PROGRAM QUESTIONS

     1. What type of program is CYK Sanctuary for Youth?

             CYK Sanctuary for Youth is a structured, trauma-informed residential program designed to support foster youth who need stability, consistency, and behavioral support in a safe home environment.

​    2. What ages do you serve?

           We serve youth ages 8–17.

     3.  What level of care do you provide?

        Our program supports youth with Level 2–3 behavioral needs who benefit from a structured setting with consistent supervision and support.

PLACEMENT & REFERRALS

  1. How are youth placed in your program?

          Placements are made through appropriate referring agencies, including community-based care (CBC) partners and the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

      2. Do you accept private placements?

               At this time, placements are coordinated through approved agencies to ensure appropriate matching and support services.

        3. How do I refer a youth?

               You can contact us directly through our website or email to begin the referral process and discuss placement availability.

CARE & SUPPORT

      1. What makes your program different?

                  Our program is built on both lived experience and professional expertise. We prioritize structure, consistency, and individualized support while maintaining a safe, home-like environment focused on growth and long-term success.

     2. Do youth receive therapy?

                We support access to therapy and mental health services as part of a comprehensive care approach, working with external providers when appropriate.

      3. How do you handle behavioral challenges?

                We use trauma-informed approaches focused on de-escalation, emotional regulation, accountability, and consistent structure to support positive behavioral outcomes.

DAILY LIFE

     1. What does a typical day look like?

             Youth follow structured daily routines that include school, life skills development, activities, and time for rest and reflection. Consistency is key to creating stability.

       2. Are there activities and outings?

             Yes. Youth are encouraged to participate in outings, recreational activities, and shared experiences that promote connection and positive engagement.

SAFETY & SUPERVISION

  1. How do you ensure safety?

            Safety is a top priority. We maintain appropriate supervision, structured routines, and clear policies to ensure a secure and supportive environment for all youth.
